What you see pictured above is the incredible Pulpí Geode. This geode is one of the largest documented geodes in the world to date. The geode has gained notoriety worldwide for its transparency, size, and perfection of the selenite (gypsum) crystals lining the interior, which reach up to 2 meters in length.
The crystals are so pure that it makes dating impossible to pinpoint.

To see amazing crystals in person (although not nearly as big as this gem!), be sure to visit the Pittsburgh Gem show in the South Hills and Monroeville.
